Lemon Skunk

Cannabliss 06/12/2011

Lemon Skunk from Grower #1:
Genetics: Old school skunk selectively bred over the last twenty years for phenotype with heavy citrus characteristics.
Grade: A+
Personal Note: Effect is after one pipe bowl, taking about four to five hits total. I will designate a number value based on a zero out of ten scale. Zero being no effect and ten being strong enough to put me to sleep. I will also do a number scale for my personal pain relief, stating pain level before and after.
Appearance: Lime green with heavy trichome formation on exterior and interior of bud. This strain has a nice distribution of orange hairs, which stand out a lot against the light lime greenness of the bud. High calyx to leaf ratio.
Production Characteristics: Very good trimming by the grower, the only leaves present are small and covered in trichomes, which make them all good in my opinion. No apparent nutrient deficiencies during grow period and dried very well. You will not be paying for any water weight here although I did put in a small humidifier so that it would not burn up in one hit.
Smell: Very powerful lemon and pine smell that never dissipated while stored in a glass pint jar. This is a strain you will want to always store separately, from any others you may have on hand, because if not everything will smell like this one! It is an extremely potent smell.
Taste: Very wonderful lemon taste as well as nice piney undertones. The lemon hits you immediately whereas the pine hits you on the back end. One thing to note about this strain, if you are a connoisseur in the fact that you appreciate a good strong tasting medication, then don’t load more than three or four hits because those give the best flavor and after all the greens been charred the flavor is much less noticeable. Overloading can lead to the end of the bowl tasting ashy.
Effects:
Type: 60% Sativa: 40% Indica
Overall High: 8/10
Pain level before medicating: 8/10
Pain level after medicating: 3/10
Pain relief lasted: 3 hours
Good indica body high but does not immediately put me to sleep. It is good at clearing my head and allowing me to release all of the days’ worries and stresses. Although it is a sativa dominant hybrid I didn't find it had the up heady high of a typical sativa. I would recommend it for early evening perhaps four to five hours before planning to go to bed. When I use this kind then add another strong indica with good anti-insomnia properties just before I want to sleep, the combination of pain relief and mind clearing allows for a nice peaceful regenerative sleep.
Side Effects: Cottonmouth is a moderate problem; keep a bottle of water on hand. Increased appetite was not an issue, so this would probably not be a first choice for someone medicating for chronic nausea or low appetite because of chemotherapy. Mild euphoria noted but mostly just elevated mood. Good anti-anxiety properties, which would benefit those who suffer from paranoia.

Note this picture is of the actual medicine I used.
